Life is good. Life is bad. Life is happy. Life is sad. Sometimes, life is all of this at the same time. But whatever life throws your way, there is always, always something to be thankful for. That is the purpose of this experiment. 366 Days of Gratitude... One leap year. It probably won't change your world, or your view of the world. But I hope it changes mine. One day, one moment, one blessing at a time.....

Day 2 of 366
*As holidays slowly dwindle down and I attempt to get some normalcy into our routines, today I'm thankful for the opportunity to have the break. This holiday has been a true break. Once I got the stress of holiday preparations out of the way, I haven't felt like I needed to be anywhere, or do anything. Gavin and I have stayed up late, and snuggled together in the morning. Life is so busy, so hectic. I'm so thankful to have had the chance to slow down and, hopefully, recharge, even just a little.
*I took my son to see Star Wars today. He enjoyed every moment of it, proclaiming that it is his favourite movie of all time, and that today was the best day ever. I have never seen him so excited, so enthralled. I've also never really seen him as a big kid before. I almost backed out. Almost said it was too grownup for him. Almost said he couldn't handle it. I'm thankful I didn't. Because he would have missed a good movie, and I would have missed a good opportunity to spend quality time with him. His dad was a Star Wars fanatic as well. I know this should have been father son bonding time. The moment was bittersweet. But I think I've come to realize many of the good moments are, and probably always will be. Its just a matter of savouring the sweetness while acknowledging the hurt.... Savoury and sweet is not always unappealing.
*I'm thankful for a clean floor. I've been trying to get the cat hair out of the carpets for a good month now. There's always been an excuse. Today I cast the excuses aside and got her done. Its a little thing, but it makes me feel more calm when my surroundings are calm.
