Day 22 of 366

*It was warm and sunny today.  The snow was melting.  I'm thankful for the cool, clean air streaming through my open windows.  It won't last.  It will be too cold again tomorrow and the windows will be frozen, but it is sure nice to get that blast of fresh air to revive the house in the middle of January.  The dog appreciated it too.  He got out for a walk :)

*There was a school shooting in Saskatchewan today.  5 children are not home with their parents.  I am thankful my son is.  That it happened six hours north of here, and that he is safe.  That I was able to hug him a little tighter, and tell him how much I loved him.  You can't bubble wrap your children.  But you shouldn't have to live in fear of sending them off to school.....

*It was a later than usual evening bedtime, snuggling on the couch watching movies.  Tomorrow is Saturday and swimming has been cancelled, so we can sleep in.  I'm thankful for those moments of calm (if you can count Gavin watching super heroes while dressed as one calm).  The moments of together time.  With no real worry about where we have to be or what we have to do.

*I'm in a pretty good place right now.  I know it could chance on a dime, and eventually will, but at the moment I am thankful for the right now.  This moment.  Where things seem okay.  Where I seem to be under control.  Where I think maybe, just maybe, I will make it through this crazy journey we all call life......
