We are now officially into the second week of 2016. If the rest of the year goes as quickly as this week has gone, I'll be pulling out the Christmas tree before I know it.
*Speaking of Christmas trees (and who isn't a week into January ;) ) my mom scored me a pre lit slim tree for the basement for $30 on clearance. I'm thankful that I could get one at such a decent price. And even more thankful that I actually want to put it up next year. 4 or 5 years ago I didn't want to both with one. We will be a three tree household next year. Another sign of progress. You keep looking for those signs - so on the rougher days you can look back and realize things are still better than they were....
*My toilet started leaking. I couldn't fix it myself, so put out a vent on a moms group i am part of on Facebook. A fellow mom, who is an out of work plumber, brought her husband over and for $80 got the thing working and not leaking again. I'm so grateful that she was willing to help me out. That I was able to get done what I needed without too much money or inconvenience.
*Gavin fell asleep cuddling me tonight. It was all I could do to leave the bed to come here and type this. I'm thankful that he is still my little boy. For little moments like that. Because I know he won't want to cuddle his mom forever. I'm going to appreciate every one that I still have left......
